In addition to CHS's list of places open today, perusing the Seattle Weekly and the Stranger, I noticed that both The Canterbury and Mirch Masala were advertising that they would be open today. Happy Thanksgiving!

Obama Mural Reappears Intact
Those of you who have been following the saga of Shelly Farnham and the murals on her garage, as reported by CHS, the Seattle Police Department has arrested the alleged tagger - Long Hoang Le. The Obama mural is back - here's hoping it stays unmolested.

Central District Spotlight
Don't miss the great article in this week's Pacific NW magazine on the Central District and all the changes happening in the neighborhood. Click through the 11 photos associated with the article for a sense of what is happening and then wander over to Central District News for some comments from CD residents. Central District News also has a comprehensive post regarding Seattle's Architectural Design Review team approving Jim Mueller's project at 2051 East Madison (previous home of the Twilight Exit) earlier this week. In case you missed it, Twilight Exit's new home will be at 25th & Cherry.

Favorite Capitol Hill Sandwiches
Two of CHT's favorite sandwich places made it on to the Stranger's list (I could not find the article online): the burgers/sandwiches at Hillside Quickie Vegan Cafe and the gourmet wonders at the Baguette Box. An aspect that the sandwiches all have in common - they require two napkins to deal with the contents.

Dine Around Seattle
Have you taken advantage of the Dine Around Seattle promo yet - 3 course dinners for $30. I had a chance to take a friend out for her birthday to Crush last night, and the $30 menu was a great value (the portions were smaller but the quality was stellar). Other restaurants in/around Capitol Hill taking part in the promo include the Hunt Club (at the Sorrento) and Nishino. Of the two, I would opt to try the Hunt Club, since they have recently revamped their menu. In other dining news, Rover's is bowing to the economic hard times by offering a a $45 four-course "Harvest Menu".

Space Warrior Princess Mural

You may have read on CHS that taggers despoiled the mural on East John and 12th. Slog subsequently reported that Shelly Farnham, a resident at the house that the garage is attached to - repainted it with Obama's visage. Here's a shot of what the garage used to look like.

Free Tall Drip at Starbucks For Voting
This is all over Twitter, but for those of you who haven't heard, Starbucks is offering a free tall drip on 11/4 to those who have voted. Barristas will look for the "I Voted" sticker, given out at some poll locations. However, for the most part, every one will be on the honor system.
