Txori in the Evening

I met up with my friend Reena last night and spurred by Herbivoracious, we decided upon Txori. I tasted the following:

pera a la plancha con valdeón 3.00
grilled pear – blue cheese – walnut

pulpo da feira 3.00

galician octopus – potato – pimentón – lagrima oil (pictured here)

bacalao en salsa verde 4.00

salt cod – green sauce – potato

I also had an onion tart and the
cauliflower and the chickpeas with spinach, which do not appear on the online menu. The salt cod and the onion tart disappointed me, but the grilled pear with walnuts & blue cheese and the chickpeas with spinach were delicious. Tofu Hunter and Herbivoracious agree on the latter two. Bebidas-wise, I had a couple of glasses of red (tempranillo/syrah/grenache blend - 8.5) and the Cava Manzana Verde 8.00. I loved the atmosphere, the space, the design and vibrancy of this place. Down-side would be that it's very noisy and the drinks are not as affordable as the eats, though Cornichon points out that you can get a zurito (a small stella) for $2.
