Some go to 22 Doors for Project Runway, some consider it a great place for a date and we recommend it for brunch. Our initial brunch experience at 22 doors was forgettable - the eggs were unseasoned and the toast was burnt. However, we were there this past Sunday and had a great brunch experience. I had the Huevos Rancheros and Eric had the newly introduced Green Cat Tofu Scramble. Though we love Dinette, which now occupies the former Green Cat space, Eric has expressed a longing for the Tofu Scramble. And, he is not alone. Mike Brown and Mark Edmison previously owned the Green Cat - hence the presence of the beloved Tofu Scramble. There was a 15 minute wait, but we were offered coffee and a comfortable seat in the interim. The yellow walls at 22 Doors accentuated the sunshine and were decorated with the talents of manmademonsters. The deck pictured above is one of a few still available for sale.
P.S. Note to Mark & Mike - the 22 Doors domain has been hijacked by pornsters
Update (4/27): Service was terrible for dinner (new waitress gave me a hamburger instead of a veggie burger and served Eric a bowl of soup instead of the grilled cheese and soup) but I still have a lot of good will for this place - the food is good and the drinks are great. Also, they had live music - and even the accordion was good!![]()

Y'know, I had the opposite experience -- I loved 22 Doors (especially brunch) when it first opened, and I feel that it's declined over time. The brunch menu used to have creative items like sweet potato pancakes, but lately has featured boring omelettes that I could make myself at home. I haven't seen the new brunch menu though, so I'll walk by and check it out.
I've also grown lukewarm on their dinner, which I used to love. Do you know whether the chef or ownership changed at some point?
Although I will say -- the staff and service have always been great.
The tofu scramble didn't stand up to the one they used to have at Green Cat. It was still pretty tasty though.
22 Doors has changed Chefs a few times, since it opened in 2005. I think the last change may have happened last summer (2007). Looks like they're looking for a sous-chef right now:
