Dinette

After reading this December 2005 ecstatic review, I hurried over to Dinette the following week. The julienned herb-frittata toast remains a favorite of mine, and the pastas are still handmade and served with perfect consistency and flavor. On Friday evening, Eric ordered the Ricotta Gnocchi with squash and leeks in sage brown butter, and I had the Orrechetti with cauliflower, arugula, garlic, anchovy and crispy bread crumbs. An almond-strudel dessert sweetly capped off the meal. Dinette has a cozy and romantic ambiance with soft lighting and golden glints provided by Melissa Nyfler (the owner/chef)'s collection of tea trays. You can sign up to receive notice of specially-themed Sunday communal suppers via their website. Two recent developments of note: Dinette has a happy hour (for both food and beverages) Tuesday thru Saturday from 5 to 7, and Wednesday nights are half price wine.
